Certificate Guide

Everything learners need to know about their certificates, sharing them, and managing their Cert Verifi account.

Overview

Cert Verifi provides secure, verifiable digital certificates for online learning courses. Each certificate is protected by HMAC validation and can be instantly verified by employers and educational institutions.

What is a Cert Verifi certificate?

A Cert Verifi certificate is a tamper-proof digital record of course completion. Unlike paper certificates, it includes:

  • Your name and course details
  • Completion date and time
  • Course score (if applicable)
  • A unique HMAC-protected ID for instant verification
  • Automatic sharing links for LinkedIn and email

Viewing Your Certificates

Sign in to your learner account to view all your certificates in one place.

Creating an Account

  1. Sign up: Use your Google account, Microsoft account, or email/password
  2. Verify your work email: Enter the work or school email where you received your certificate
  3. Confirm via OTP: Check your email for a 6-digit verification code and enter it
  4. Set preferences: Choose whether you'd like to receive product and course updates
  5. Done: Access all your certificates instantly
You'll only need to verify your certificate email once. After that, you can log in anytime with your sign-up email/password or social account.

Certificate Status Badges

  • ✓ Verified: Valid and ready to share
  • Revoked: No longer valid (if you didn't complete the course requirements)
  • Expired: Past the expiration date

Sharing Your Certificates

Share your certificates with employers, educational institutions, or on social media in seconds.

Generate a Share Link

  1. Click "Get share link" on any certificate
  2. A shareable URL will appear (it's unique to your certificate)
  3. Click "Copy" to copy it to your clipboard
  4. Paste into emails, LinkedIn, your resume, or anywhere else

LinkedIn Sharing

When you share a Cert Verifi link on LinkedIn, it will automatically display:

  • Your certificate title and course name
  • Issue and expiration dates
  • A preview image
  • A direct link to verify the certificate

Example Share Link

Share links are permanent and work forever (until your certificate expires or is revoked). Anyone can view your certificate details without logging in.

Certificate Verification

Anyone can verify a certificate without creating an account. This is how employers can confirm your credentials.

How to Verify a Certificate

  1. Visit your certificate's share link (or the main Cert Verifi site)
  2. Enter the certificate ID (looks like: CV-ELT-202606-dHtBMxjI-d40a1a4d)
  3. Instantly see the certificate details and verification status

What Gets Verified?

  • Certificate authenticity (HMAC validation)
  • Holder name and course details
  • Issue date and expiration status
  • Revocation status
All certificates are cryptographically verified using HMAC. If a certificate ID is tampered with, the verification will fail instantly.
